Welcome to the english web page of the Center for Innovative Learning Technologies (CIL) of RWTH Aachen University! We aim to extend and facilitate the use of blended learning in university courses to improve the teaching and learning quality for students and to lessen the administrative effort for lecturers. We offer a wide range of services to support lecturers in utilizing eLearning technologies in their courses.
Our most well-known achievement is the development and implementation of the eLearning and eTeaching Portal L²P at RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with the IT-Center of RWTH Aachen University. Since its launch in 2005 it has drawn steadily increasing user numbers showing a demand for eLearning and a high acceptance of L²P. The L²P Help pages contain brief instructions, video tutorials, FAQs and detailed descriptions for all features of the portal. For information on how to register for L²P please refer to the English version of the L²P homepage or the help pages.
We offer a range of workshops and individual consultations in which we outline and demonstrate the different features and functions of L²P. Next to imparting practical competence to the participants we show possible didactic usage scenarios for the various features of L²P.
The CiL also offers different workshops pertaining to eLearning and eTeaching in regular intervals: workshops regarding the basic aspects of eLearning and eTeaching (teaching scenarios, media technologies, didactic design, gender sensitive eLearning) as well as eLearning workshops focusing on authoring tools, web 2.0 technologies, German copyright law, etc. If there is a particular topic that you are especially interested in, don’t hesitate to contact us.
The CiL strives to support you in integrating eLearning elements successfully into your courses. In case you have any questions or are in need of new ideas, please contact us. Regular eLearning consultation hours provide students and lecturers with the opportunity to pose their questions or discuss any problems they may have encountered. We also offer individual consultations within the framework of starter kits for newly appointed professors.
In the eLearning blog new contributions on eLearning topics are released on a regular basis. They are aimed at people interested in eLearning, especially those associated with RWTH Aachen University (both lecturers and students).
